The pits open up, and most of the cars will come in. Riley Herbst in the #98 for SHR also spun out, taking significant damage and his day is over. It looks like Cindric was under him, but Allmendinger didn’t realize that and tried to drive from the top to the bottom. They make a lot of contact, and Cindric will win the stage. Cindric comes out of the chicane, and he spins Allmendinger. Cindric narrows in on Allmendinger as they get back on the oval. They take the white flag, and Cindric is not giving up. Allmendinger heads into the infield, and Cindric is about a car length behind. That means Gragson is the only running car not on the lead lap.Īllmendinger brings the field to the line, and we’re back to racing with 2 to go. Earnhardt gets the free pass again, and that will put him back on the lead lap. The pits open up, and several cars will come in for gas and tries, but the leaders stay out. The caution comes from Ryan Vargas in the #6 for JDM, who has stalled out at the end of pit road. The caution is back out as the leaders were racing through NASCAR turns 3 and 4. Allmendinger takes the lead on Lap 11 as they head back up onto the oval. At Lap 10, Allmendinger is still hanging with Cindric, and there’s a good chance that they battle for the lead for most of the day. Cindric gets a great restart, but Allmendinger isn’t letting him escape. Jeffery Earnhardt in the #0 for JDM will get the free pass which puts him a lap down.Ĭindric brings the field to the restart zone, and we’re back to racing at Lap 7. The fluid was coming from Decker, and the officials have informed her to stop to limit the spread on the track. The caution is out on Lap 3 for fluid along the backstretch. Natalie Decker in the #23 for RSS Racing spun through the front stretch chicane, causing other drivers to scatter. Gragson gets put two laps down as Cindric passes him on Lap 3, and cars are already having issues with the newly installed turtles. AJ Allmendinger in the #16 for Kaulig has clawed his way up to P2 within a few laps. Gragson’s crew has the car running on Lap 2 and will be at least a lap down with the leaders on his tale. Cindric gets a great run into the infield and takes the lead quickly. The Pace Car dips off of the track, and we are racing in Daytona. ![]() ![]() The field is on its final pace lap, and Gragson is still sitting on pit road as his crew goes to work on the engine. Noah Gragson in the #9 for JRM’s car will not fire, and his day could be over before it even started if they can’t get it cranked. The field is now rolling off of pit road, and we should be getting ready to go racing soon. Some notable drivers in the race include Ty Gibbs making his series debut in the #54 for JGR, Jade Buford in the #48 for Big Machine Racing, Andy Lally will be in the #99 for BJMM, and Miguel Paludo is in the #8 for JRM. The race tonight will be broken into 15, 15, and 22 lag stages for a total of 52 laps. ![]() Like last year, the track is 3.61-miles long, but it has some modifications to improve racing in the chicanes. The fan base’s favorite series had some of the best road course racing last year, including their trip to the Daytona Road Course last August. ![]() It was a long night last night as the truck series had a caution-filled race, but now it’s time for the Xfinity Series to deliver an action-packed race.
